Seeds of the Revolution In reality, true freedom was taken from us a very long time ago. Our choices in life are becoming more restricted with everyday that passes. Aspirations rarely rise above the desire to buy a car and a home and raise a family in some picturesque suburbia, in order to propagate the next generation of slaves and laborers. It is a dream given to us from the day of birth by the prevailing social order. The purpose of life, we are told, is to work, consume, propagate and die. In order to live this dream we sell our very lives, sacrificing each day and hour to a mundane and menial task in an office or a factory. The office worker may receive higher compensation for his meaningless task, thus enabling him to buy a slightly nicer car and have a slightly more beautiful wife. But in reality, there is no difference between the factory worker and the office worker. They are both unwitting gears in the vast machine of profit and exploitation, giving their lives to fulfill a social order that cares nothing for them, and will forget and replace them as soon as they have gone. Perhaps freedom is just an idealistic vision that has never actually been realized. Perhaps freedom is just a fantasy that is beyond our capacity to attain. Or perhaps freedom is something that can only be achieved through massive popular struggle, but once attained will allow us to strive for things not yet even imagined.
I
believe we control our own destiny. It is
time for the disgruntled and disillusioned
masses to stand together as one, throw off our
shackles and take what is rightfully ours.
